Free college football pick'em leagues
College football gives a pick'em league more to choose from than any other sport: dozens of games every Saturday, plus weeknight games. Run a free league with friends, pick from the same real lines, and let grading and standings take care of themselves.
Why the spread matters most here
College football has far bigger mismatches than the NFL. A top program playing a much weaker opponent can be favored by 30 points or more, so straight-up picks on games like that tell you very little. Spread picks put every game on an even footing. Most college football pick'em groups pick against the spread, and the favorite limit keeps straight-up picks from turning into free wins.
What you can pick
- Spread — the favorite has to win by more than the number.
- Straight Up — just pick the winner.
- Total Points — over or under the combined score.
Player Stats picks aren't offered for college football.
Setting up your league
- Picks per week. With this many games, many groups go bigger than an NFL league, for example 10 picks a week.
- College only, or with the NFL. A college-only league runs on a Wednesday-to-Tuesday football week. Add the NFL and the league runs Monday to Sunday, with Saturday and Sunday games together.
- Survivor. A Pick'em Survivor league works for college football too: one pick a week, one loss and you're out. See the league types.
The college football calendar
- Week 0 and early season. A handful of games kick off in late August, and the first few weeks are full of big mismatches against smaller programs. Spreads are often huge, which is exactly when spread picks earn their keep.
- Conference play. From late September, most games are within a conference. Rivals know each other well, and upsets are more common than in non-conference games.
- Championship weekend. Conference title games are played on the first weekend of December, with only a small slate. Keep that week in mind when you choose picks per week, since a high number can be hard to reach with so few games.
- Bowl season and the Playoff. Bowl games run from mid-December into January, spread across many days. Set your season end date to cover them if your group wants to play through the national title game.
Standings and grading
Picks are graded automatically when games end, and standings sort by win percentage with pushes counting as half a win. With a full Saturday slate, the standings can change a lot in a single afternoon. The pick'em rules cover scoring and tiebreakers.
