1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or otherwise using Covers Only ("the Platform," "we," "us"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you represent that you meet this age requirement and that all information you provide is accurate.

3. No Gambling

Covers Only is a free, skill-based, fantasy-style sports platform. See the Skill-Based Disclaimer above, which is incorporated into these Terms in full. Users will not be charged to join a league, and Covers Only will never distribute cash or cash-equivalent prizes. Covers Only does not authorize, sanction, sponsor, or facilitate real-money wagering, side betting, or pools based on its leagues, standings, or data, and does not provide any tools, payment features, or infrastructure for that purpose.

4. Balance Leagues & Virtual Currency

Some leagues use a "Balance League" format in which members receive a virtual weekly budget to allocate across picks, with standings determined by virtual winnings. The following apply to all Balance League activity:

• Virtual budget is provided automatically and free of charge to all league members; it can never be purchased, topped up, or acquired with real money in any amount, under any circumstances.
• Virtual winnings, balances, and standings have no cash value and can never be redeemed, exchanged, transferred for consideration, or cashed out for real money, gift cards, merchandise, or any other item of value.
• Terms like "wager," "budget," and "winnings" as used in Balance Leagues refer only to virtual, in-Platform scorekeeping and do not involve real-money risk of any kind.
• Any attempt by a user to buy, sell, or trade virtual league budget for real money or anything of value, on or off the Platform, is a violation of these Terms.

5. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.

6. League Commissioners

Users who create a league ("Commissioners") are responsible for setting league rules within the bounds these Terms allow (sports, bet types, picks per week, dates, member limits) and for managing their league's membership. Covers Only may remove a Commissioner or dissolve a league that violates these Terms.

7. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Platform for any illegal purpose, including facilitating illegal gambling under applicable state or federal law;
• Attempt to manipulate grading, standings, or odds data;
• Buy, sell, or trade virtual league budget or winnings for real money or anything of value;
• Harass, abuse, or impersonate other users;
• Attempt to access another user's account or league without authorization;
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Platform's infrastructure.

8. Sportsbook Data & Odds

Odds, lines, and scores displayed on the Platform are provided by third-party data sources (currently The Odds API and Ball Don't Lie) and are provided "as is." Covers Only does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of this data and is not liable for grading disputes arising from third-party data errors. Commissioners retain the ability to manually correct grading in their leagues.

9. Advertising

Covers Only may display third-party advertisements on the Platform. Advertisements are provided by third-party ad networks and are not endorsements by Covers Only of any advertised product or service. Covers Only is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or claims made in third-party advertisements. See our Privacy Policy for information on how ad networks may use cookies or similar technology.

10. Intellectual Property

The Platform, including its design, code, and branding, is the property of Covers Only LLC and may not be copied or redistributed without permission.

11. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Covers Only is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Platform, including disputes between league members, inaccurate grading, or service interruptions.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

1. What We Collect

• Account information: first name, last name, username, email address, password (hashed, never stored in plain text).
• Usage data: picks made, leagues joined, league settings, standings, and activity timestamps.
• Technical data: IP address, browser/device type, collected automatically for security and functionality.

2. What We Don't Collect

Covers Only does not collect payment information, financial account details, or government-issued ID, because the Platform never charges money or pays out prizes.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To operate your account and league memberships;
• To send transactional emails (welcome, password reset, league invites, pick reminders, final standings) via our email provider, Resend;
• To grade picks against sportsbook and player-stat data;
• To improve the Platform and diagnose issues.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each of which processes limited data on our behalf:

• Resend — transactional email delivery (your email address, name);
• The Odds API — sportsbook odds/lines data (no personal data shared);
• Ball Don't Lie API — player statistics for grading (no personal data shared);
• Railway — hosting and database infrastructure;
• Google Analytics — usage and traffic analytics (see Section 5 below for consent details);
• Google Ads (e.g. Google AdSense) — displays third-party advertisements on the Platform and may use cookies to personalize ads and measure ad performance (see Section 5 below for consent details).

5. Cookies, Analytics & Advertising

Covers Only uses cookies and similar browser storage for three purposes:

• Essential: to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. These are required for the Platform to function and cannot be disabled.
• Analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage, such as which pages are visited and how users navigate the Platform.
• Advertising: we use Google's advertising services to display ads on the Platform. Google and its partners may set cookies to serve ads and personalize them based on your activity on this and other sites.

If you are located outside the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland, Analytics and Advertising cookies are on by default, since those regions do not require opt-in consent for this kind of cookie use. If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, Covers Only uses Google Consent Mode to withhold Analytics and Advertising cookies by default and shows you a Google-provided consent message on your first visit, where you can choose Consent, Do Not Consent, or manage individual options; your choice is remembered and governs both Analytics and ad personalization together. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via that message or through Google Ads Settings. 6. Data Retention

We retain account and league data for as long as your account is active. Completed leagues retain historical picks and standings. You may request account deletion at any time by contacting [email protected].

7. Children's Privacy

Covers Only is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Contact [email protected] to make a request.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures (password hashing, HTTPS, access controls) to protect your data, but no system is 100% secure.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice.
